The only difference is the fact it sells items that are obtained from other islands via StreetPass, or clothes distributed by Nintendo through SpotPass. Import Wear is very similar to the Clothing Shop and Hat Shop, being an area that sells clothing to. The Pawn Shop is an area where the player can sell treasures that they no longer want. The shop is also known to have special interiors every month, as well as other interiors that are unlocked when a Mii reaches a certain level. The Interiors Shop sells interiors that change everyday. The Clothing Shop is where the player can buy clothing for Miis.Īs its name suggests, the Hats Shop is a shop that sells hats, a sub-category of clothing not sold in the Clothing Shop. The Food Mart is where the player can buy various foods to give to their islanders, which updates daily. By tapping on various windows, the player can interact with them. Mii Apartments is the building where the Miis reside. The main setting of the game where every other location can be found. Tomodachi Life features a wide variety of locations, more so than its predecessor, Tomodachi Collection. If the player activates StreetPass with someone who also has Tomodachi Life, the traveler will go to the other person's island to visit.
Once the child gets old enough, they can live in their apartment or go off as a traveler who will wait at the dock of the island. Married Miis can even have children that will grow up in the house. If two Miis of opposite gender maintain good relationships for a long time, they can start to date and even get married, creating their own house to live in together. As more Miis are introduced, various interactions can occur between them, such as friendship, romance, rivalry, and even bizarre musical numbers. Miis can perform various actions, such as eating, trying on different outfits, visiting many facilities on the island, and other leisurely activities.
The gameplay is very similar to its predecessor, Tomodachi Collection, as it also takes place on an island inhabited by various Miis, which the player can import from their 3DS, other devices, QR Codes, or create from scratch using the 3DS' camera or the in-game creation tools.
